Lo leemos en los evangelios, pero en la serie \u201cThe Chosen\u201d (Los elegidos) nos muestra c\u00f3mo los disc\u00edpulos desconoc\u00edan lo que les esperaba y lo que Jes\u00fas quer\u00eda hicieran. Las par\u00e1bolas y lecciones de Jes\u00fas los dejaban proverbialmente perplejos y vi\u00e9ndose unos a otros en busca de claridad. Incluso despu\u00e9s de la Resurrecci\u00f3n y de los cuarenta d\u00edas que siguieron de hechos no registrados, cuando se reunieron en el monte para la Ascensi\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas, Mateo nos dice \u201cCuando lo vieron, lo adoraron, pero dudaron.\u201d<\/p>

Nosotros somos iguales , adoramos, pero dudamos, aunque en muchos sentidos tenemos ventaja sobre los primeros disc\u00edpulos. Su interacci\u00f3n personal con Jes\u00fas nos parece \u00fanica, pero tenemos dos mil a\u00f1os de te\u00f3logos y santos como los mejores instructores haciendo veces de mariscal de campo para un lunes por la ma\u00f1ana, explicando con amplitud los mensajes de esos tiempos, mejor que el mismo Jes\u00fas.\u00a0Esto puede ayudarnos a aprender de los errores de los ap\u00f3stoles y a no repetirlos.<\/p>

A pesar de desconocer su futuro,los disc\u00edpulos confiaron y permanecieron atentos a la palabra de Jes\u00fas, y a los impulsos del Esp\u00edritu Santo, d\u00eda tras d\u00eda. Tom\u00e1s al tocar el costado de Jes\u00fas no ten\u00eda ni idea que viajar\u00eda a la India donde termin\u00f3 siendo reconocido por evangelizar esa gran naci\u00f3n. Por su parte el Ap\u00f3stol Santiago, en el huerto de Getseman\u00ed no ten\u00eda idea que terminar\u00eda en Espa\u00f1a y que ser\u00eda de gran inspiraci\u00f3n para millones de peregrinos que seguir\u00edan sus pasos. Cuando Pedro pas\u00f3 a llamarse Sim\u00f3n, no pod\u00eda imaginar lo que ser\u00eda ser el l\u00edder de ese ministerio incipiente d\u00eda a d\u00eda, y que esto lo llevar\u00eda a su propia crucifixi\u00f3n ,ni que sus huesos ser\u00edan conservados de por vida bajo una enorme bas\u00edlica en Roma lugar conocido como una potencia mundial pagana. Hoy mismo, no sabemos a que nos llamar\u00e1 Dios ma\u00f1ana, el mes que viene o el a\u00f1o que viene.<\/p>

Mantenerse fiel d\u00eda a d\u00eda fu\u00e9 clave para aquellos primeros cristianos para discernir y cumplir el llamado de Dios. Dios tampoco nos muestra claramente su plan. Al igual que los disc\u00edpulos debemos estar alerta, Puede que no tengamos ni idea, pero Dios es experto en darnos pistas.<\/p>
