Mi nieta ya puede correr. A sus diecisiete meses, es curioso observar que cuando corre es simplemente por el placer de correr, sin la intenci\u00f3n de llegar a alg\u00fan sitio.<\/p>

El fin de semana pasado hice un viaje por carretera con Maxine y sus padres, e hicimos una corta parada para descansar . Al sacarla de su silla dentro del carro, sus piernitas ya pedaleaban antes de tocar el suelo. Mientras sus padres entraban, acompa\u00f1\u00e9 a Maxine mientras corr\u00eda. Corri\u00f3 desde la entrada del edificio, sin mirar atr\u00e1s, y aunque la acera segu\u00eda recta, gir\u00f3 bruscamente a la derecha y baj\u00f3 a toda velocidad por el lado izquierdo del edificio de bloques de cemento. Ten\u00eda una acera peque\u00f1a perfecta para correr, pero no la llevar\u00eda a ninguna parte. No hab\u00eda nada atractivo al final. Ni un solo arbusto con flores, nadie paseando a su perro, ni piedras ni nada que pudiera haberle llamado la atenci\u00f3n. Parec\u00eda que no le importaba ; su objetivo era correr. De repente se detuvo, girando nuevamente y sali\u00f3 corriendo a toda velocidad en otra direcci\u00f3n aparentemente sin sentido.<\/p>

Estaba pensando en c\u00f3mo esa escena podr\u00eda representar la analog\u00eda de c\u00f3mo muchas personas eligen vivir sus vidas. De igual manera, esas personas corren sin un objetivo final en su mente. Sus pies siguen movi\u00e9ndose , como en una caminadora en lugar de un camino con un destino que valga la pena, sin un premio substancial en mente. Como cristianos, se nos ense\u00f1a que debemos ser intencionales en los caminos que elegimos, manteniendo el cielo como nuestra meta al final del camino. Eso requiere mantener la cabeza en alto y la vista alerta mientras corremos. Alertas a las artima\u00f1as y trampas del maligno y dispuestos humildemente a aceptar y participar de los recursos que la Iglesia nos ofrece. Seguir creciendo en nuestra fe como adultos a trav\u00e9s de la buena lectura, la asistencia a clases de formaci\u00f3n en la fe, la asistencia regular a Misa, as\u00ed como la Confesi\u00f3n , nos sirve de ayuda a mantenernos en el camino correcto.<\/p>

Todos fuimos j\u00f3venes corredores alguna vez como Maxine. Explorar sin un plan es una parte importante del aprendizaje, solo por un tiempo. Pero llega el momento en que como dice San Pablo, necesitamos \"dejar atr\u00e1s las cosas de ni\u00f1o\". Es una l\u00e1stima desperdiciar la vida yendo por el camino equivocado.<\/p>
