El Evangelio pasado era uno largo y famoso. La Mujer en el Pozo. Con tantas palabras, y tanto sucediendo, puede ser dif\u00edcil escoger un mensaje personal para tomar y aplicarlo a nuestra vida personal. Es tambi\u00e9n, una lectura muy familiar y podr\u00edamos estar tentados a desconectarnos o repetir lo que nos han ense\u00f1ado en el pasado. Para m\u00ed, lo que escuch\u00e9 este a\u00f1o fu\u00e9 diferente. La palabra que me reson\u00f3 a m\u00ed fue; SED,<\/p>

Jes\u00fas, famosamente dijo: “Tengo sed: en la cruz. La Madre Teresa adopt\u00f3 esas palabras durante su misi\u00f3n pasando la totalidad de su vida tratando de saciar la sed de Jes\u00fas sirviendo a los pobres y a los menos favorecidos. Ella es famosa por identificar que la pobreza m\u00e1s profunda es sentirse no amado, olvidado o descuidado; lo que ella observ\u00f3 entre la gente que est\u00e1 segura financieramente.\u00a0<\/p>

La mujer samaritana, parece ser de esa categor\u00eda. Ella hac\u00eda el viaje diario al pozo para conseguir el agua f\u00edsica que necesitaba, pero con un historial de 5 esposos y ahora un 6th amante, pareciera que su coraz\u00f3n no estaba saciado. Por tanto, no cab\u00eda duda que su comportamiento le hab\u00eda hecho no aceptada entre las mujeres de Sychar, lo que hac\u00eda ser marginada tambi\u00e9n. No sabemos la raz\u00f3n por la que llevaba ese estilo de vida, pero Jes\u00fas s\u00ed. \u00c9l sab\u00eda su historia y su sed interior, as\u00ed que fu\u00e9 hacia ella.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Yo veo que el tema de la sed continua en el Evangelio de Mateo, cuando Jesus ense\u00f1a sobre el juicio adelantado y c\u00f3mo nuestra respuesta a la sed de nuestro pr\u00f3jimo ser\u00e1 un factor que determinar\u00e1 si terminamos en la l\u00ednea de las ovejas o la de las cabras \u2013 vida eterna o castigo eterno. Yo leo eso de una manera diferente ahora; Jes\u00fas no nos est\u00e1 pidiendo solamente ayudar a aquellos que est\u00e1n sin agua o alimento, sino tambi\u00e9n a los que no son amados, son olvidados y descuidados. En Brewster, Patterson y North Salem, tenemos un n\u00famero limitado de vecinos con inseguridad de alimentos y la mayor\u00eda de la gente, ricos o pobres, tienen botellas grandes de agua que les acompa\u00f1an durante su d\u00eda, pero sabemos\u00a0de un incontable n\u00famero de hombres, mujeres y ni\u00f1os que est\u00e1n resecos por la sed del coraz\u00f3n y del alma. Como disc\u00edpulos, debemos seguir el modelo de Jes\u00fas e ir hacia ellos.\u00a0<\/p>
