The National Eucharist Pilgrimage for Teens at Cardinal Hayes High School was an incredible and blessed event on May 24th. Our Life Teen group organized a trip to the Bronx, NY, with a bus full of 30 enthusiastic teenagers. The event’s highlight was Bishop Joe Espaillat’s inspiring talk on the profound reality of Jesus’ presence in the Eucharist.

Here are the four essential aspects of the Eucharist and their significance for us from Bishop Joe’s meditation:

• Firstly, when we actively partake in the Eucharist during Mass and adoration, we are united with Christ. In turn, we are called to share His message of love with others.
• Secondly, the Eucharist empowers us to reject evil and resist the influence of dark forces in our hearts.
• Thirdly, the Eucharist directs us to Christ’s healing power. We are invited to seek His restorative touch.
• Lastly, the Eucharist unites us with the triumphant Christ, who conquered sin and death. As the source of life, He offers us abundant and eternal life.

Throughout the night, the teens were filled with joy and happiness as they prayed and connected with Jesus Christ. It is now our mis- sion to inspire and teach our young people that through a personal relationship with Jesus, they can find true happiness, joy, peace, and experience His transformative healing in their lives.
