In this gospel, the money changers who are in the temple have come up with a solution for pilgrims to buy oxen as sacrifice for sin. They are traveling and not able to bring their own, but this turns out to be a travesty for the temple. We need to treat the temple as sacred. The other point Jesus makes is the new temple, his body that we know as the Eucharist. Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and we receive the fruits of this in the Eucharist.
