Our Family Program:
Faith Formation for the Whole Family (Grades 1–5)
At Saint Lawrence O’Toole Parish and Sacred Heart Parish, Religious Education is not just a weekly class—it’s a faith journey your whole family shares.
How it works on Sundays
- Parents attend Mass.
- Children receive their lesson during Mass.
- On designated weekends, families begin Mass together.
- After the Gloria, children come forward and are escorted to their classrooms for an age-appropriate lesson
- Younger children stay for the full lesson time.
- Older children (Grades 3–5) receive a Gospel-based lesson and then return to church in time for Holy Communion with their families.
What makes the Family Program different
We focus on forming the entire family, not only the child. We believe faith grows best when it is:
- practiced at Mass,
- lived at home,
- and supported through family conversation and example.
Program Requirements
- Weekend Mass attendance
- Mass lessons twice per month
- Four Family Program events per year
- Two Sacramental Retreats per year (Grade 2 & Sacramental Prep Catch-Up 2)
- Weekly Zoom classes for Grades 3–5
- Two Reconciliation retreats per year for Grades 3–5

EDGE: Middle School Youth Ministry (Grades 6–8)
EDGE is our faith program for middle school students in Grades 6–8. It helps your child learn more about the Catholic faith, build good friendships, and prepare for Confirmation.
EDGE is not just a classroom program—it’s a youth ministry where students can ask questions, talk about real life, and grow closer to Jesus.
What your child will do during the year
• EDGE sessions twice a month (Tuesdays) with engaging lessons and small-group discussion
• Monthly XLT night (Adoration with music) and a chance for Confession
• Social nights to build friendships with other Catholic teens
• Service projects (different projects for each grade)
• Retreats designed for middle schoolers
• A parent night to help families understand the Confirmation journey
Mass is part of the program
Because Mass is the center of our faith, weekend Mass attendance is required.
EDGE gives students a place to belong, grow in faith, and get ready for Confirmation—with support from peers and caring adult leaders.
How to Register
New Student
To process all new student registrations, we must receive the New Student Form first. Send us an electronic copy, along with a photo or PDF of your child’s baptismal certificate and all previous religious education records to familyprogrambrewster@gmail.com.

Fees
For one Child: $275
For two Children: $300
For three or more Children: $325
First Communion Fee: $50 per child
Confirmation Fee: $100 per child
CatchUp Fee: $100 per child
