In St. Mark’s gospel, he tells of the beginning of Jesus’s ministry. It’s a bare-bones account of those 40 days. But what is striking is Jesus goes out to pray, fast, and do penance before his ministry begins. Fr. Rich draws parallels for us to do the same during Lent.
